Welcome To The American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon
Association (AWPGA) Health and Pedigree Database!

The AWPGA is dedicated to preserving the heritage and improving the future of Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. This includes understanding the health problems present in our breed and providing a mechanism for breeders and enthusiasts to research pedigrees. To this end, we have launched a comprehensive health and pedigree database dedicated to Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. See the AWPGA’s web site to learn more about the club and the breed.

In addition to health and pedigree information, the database contains photos of many dogs. Also included are all the titles we know about that these dogs have earned. Essentially it is a living history of the breed we love.

One thing to note is that neither the AKC nor any other registry gives us a complete list of every Wirehaired Pointing Griffon registered. The database truly depends on submissions by owners to make it complete. This is especially important for health and disease information that would not be known any other way. Please see the Submit Data button above for more information on how to submit data about your dog(s).

To make sure the information is easily accessible by all fanciers of the breed, the AWPGA is funding the database to provide free and open access to all. Registration is not required. The AWPGA welcomes donations to help support the database. Please go here for the current club treasurer’s contact information.
